The “Barriers of Mobility: Visa Issues for Non-EU Students” survey focuses on understanding how visa and residence permit procedures affect the mobility experiences of non-EU students and young people participating in international programmes such as Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), ESN events, and other mobility opportunities. By collecting first-hand experiences, the survey examines the level of information and institutional support provided during visa processes, the challenges faced in applications and approvals, processing times, rejection reasons, and the overall impact of visa-related issues on participants’ motivation, satisfaction, and programme experience. The survey aims to identify structural barriers within current mobility systems and provide evidence-based insights to improve accessibility, fairness, and inclusivity in international mobility for non-EU participants.
Thank you for taking the time to be here and to share your experience with us. International mobility programmes such as Erasmus+, ESC and other exchanges offer valuable opportunities for learning, personal development, and intercultural exchange. At the same time, non-EU participants may encounter visa procedures and administrative processes that shape their overall mobility experience. With this survey, we would like to listen to your story. We aim to understand the realities non-EU students and young people face before, during, and after the visa application process. - We kindly invite you to share your experiences as accurately as possible, based on your personal mobility journey. Your responses will help us identify common challenges, highlight good practices, and advocate for fairer and more accessible mobility opportunities in the future. By participating, you are contributing to a collective effort to make international mobility more inclusive for everyone. Your responses will help us identify recurring challenges and document existing practices related to visa procedures and mobility. By participating, you contribute to a broader understanding of how international mobility frameworks operate for non-EU participants. The findings of this survey will be shared with institutions and policymakers responsible for mobility and visa frameworks. We truly appreciate your time and openness. Your voice matters, and together we can work towards reducing barriers and improving mobility experiences for non-EU participants.
